English assignment (Advert)

Questions:
 1. What was the purpose of your advertisement?  e.g. Was it to sell a product (state what product) or an event (state what event) or encourage people to change their behavior (e.g. to stop smoking)?

The purpose of my ad was to advertise an event - Greymouth Christmas parade

2. What was the main image (or dominant image) in your advertisement?  Why did you choose this image?
The main image of my ad was the picture of the marching band in the bottom right corner because it is a marching band performing in the Christmas parade in a past year.
3. What colors, or shades of colors, did you choose for your advertisement?  Why did you choose these colors?
I used mostly red because it symbolizes Christmas.
4. What verbal techniques (language features) did you use in your advertisement, and why?
I used Christmas kind of words to make it sound more like a Christmas themed ad.
5. Who is the target audience for your advertisement?  How have you targeted this audience?
The target audience for my ad is kids and family's because its a great thing for kids to experience to see Santa and other characters.
6. What is the message in your advertisement? (e.g. if you buy this perfume, you will be glamorous)
The message in my ad is to encourage people to come to the Christmas parade and watch.
7. What skills have you learnt in this unit?  How could you use these skills in other subjects or in your personal life?

Skills i have learnt in this unit are some language techniques that i didn't know about before, also how to use appropriate colors to fit the theme of what I am advertising.
